In our last Sage 100 ERP (f/k/a Sage MAS 90/200) blog post, we started discussing some of the Business Intelligence functions including Business Insights Explorer and Business Insights Dashboard. These modules give you access to customized business information quickly in order to make faster and better decisions at all levels in your company This post will move onto some of the Intelligence Reporting applications available for Sage 100. With these applications, you can worry less on pulling all the data together, and put more effort into interpreting and analyzing the information. The rest of this post will detail how this is possible with Intelligence Reporting for Sage 100 ERP including the powerful report writer of SAP® Crystal Reports.
Intelligence Reporting
Sage 100 ERP Intelligence Reporting empowers you to quickly and easily obtain the information required for improved operations and reporting across your entire business. Using the familiar look of Microsoft Excel®, effectively analyze Sage 100 ERP data. Effortlessly create real-time, automated, and preformatted reports with up-to-date, accurate, and meaningful information. Intelligence Reporting allows you to spend more time focusing on analysis and interpretation and less time pulling the data together.

Report Manager: Report Manager license allows you to create and edit new reports as well as to filter and aggregate data. You’ll receive a basic set of standard report templates with the Report Manager. These templates provide easy-to-use, in-depth financial, operations, and strategic planning visibility, so you can focus on ROI and results. Use the flexible security to establish and set permissions for your reports.
Report Viewer: A Report Viewer license provides you with the ability to view reports, and drill-down into existing reports and templates. Basic editing capabilities, such as filtering the data and changing the parameters, are also included. Report Viewer licenses are ideal for staff members who do not need to create new reports.
Report Designer: Take full control of all your financial report design layouts using the Report Designer module and remove the complexity of designing financial reports inside Excel. Use drag-and-drop Excel formulas to make financial reporting easier and more intuitive. Control how your accounts rollup with maximum flexibility, and establish reporting groups and reporting trees to view your organization in many different ways.
Connector: Streamline your financial managers’ day-to-day operational tasks using the Connector module to access information from multiple sources and consolidate data from multiple companies. The Connector module allows for consolidations and connectivity to unlimited ODBC data sources.
SAP® Crystal Reports for Sage 100 ERP
Create and customize presentation-quality reports from your Sage 100 ERP systems data with SAP Crystal Decisions software. SAP Crystal Reports for Sage 100 ERP is a powerful report writer that allows you to create meaningful reports quickly and easily. You can use sample reports straight out of the box (see some of the reports included with your Sage 100 ERP software in the sidebar). Or modify reports to suit your needs, then save and run them anytime.
Take control over the look of your documents by selecting font type, size, and color. Enhance the layout by applying lines, borders, and shading. Further enrich your reports with embedded pictures, diagrams, and logos. Use tables, cross-tabulations, or one of 12 graph styles to communicate your financial information. You can even create reports with drill-down capabilities simply by selecting that option for the detail section of a report.
SAP Crystal Reports for Sage 100 ERP “Experts” are wizards that guide you through the report process from start to finish, and Private Tutor is a built-in training and online help system. The open database connectivity driver (ODBC), included with the application, gives SAP Crystal Reports for Sage 100 ERP direct access to Sage 100 ERP data. The ODBC driver also provides read-only access to Sage 100 ERP data for other applications, including Microsoft® Word, Excel®, and Access software—for automatic transfer of your accounting information into other applications and report writers. SAP Crystal Reports for Sage 100 ERP is included with your Sage 100 ERP software.
