Founded in 1989, SWK Technologies, Inc. was born with the objective of providing information technology solutions that are based on real business needs. Frustrated as users of IT services that were technology drive not business driven, we knew there had to be a better way.

“A Different Kind of IT Consulting Company” soon became SWK’s tag line. Different in the solutions we deliver, different in the people and technology resources we provide, different in the type of customer we serve.

This mission demanded that SWK deliver complete services, beyond IT consulting services the firm is a Sage Master Developer, Sage Authorized Training Center, and have staff fully certified as a Microsoft system engineers.

Over the past 18 years the firm has garnered numerous awards and recognitions as an industry leader —including multiple recognitions as a Technology Pacesetter and Top 100 VAR by Accounting Technology magazine. SWK has also been a regular member of the Sage President’s Circle and in 2006 was inducted into the Sage Million Dollar Club.

SWK has been recognized year after year for providing exceptional technology solutions and outstanding value to partners and clients. The firm has furthered this goal as a founding member and significant participant of the prestigious Information Technology Alliance (ITA) since 1997.

As a Sage Master Developer since 1997, SWK has developed and published a variety of solutions and enhancements for Sage MAS family of software. With a particular emphasis on supply chain innovations, the firm’s premier product is MAPADOC® EDI. Released in 1998, MAPADOC has become a leading EDI solution for Sage MAS 90 ERP, MAS 200 ERP and MAS 500 ERP. In 2001, SWK developed the integration between Sage MAS 90, Sage MAS 200 and ACCELLOS WMS/RADIO BEACON, the internationally renowned warehouse management software.

SWK’s staff has always been our most important company asset. Today, SWK numbers over 40 employees and continues to grow in size and experience. Our people hold certifications in Providex, Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Systems Engineer and Technology Specialists and all relevant Sage certifications. Several SWK principals are CPAs and hold the AICPA Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) certificates. Many staff also hold business degrees including MBA’s

In 2004, SWK began a new phase of organic and acquisition growth, beginning with acquiring leading Sage BusinessWorks reseller Business Tech Solutions Group, followed by BCS of Long Island in March 2005. In 2006, SWK acquired Wolen Katz, a Sage Abra HRMS reseller, and AMP-Best, the leading upstate New York reseller of the Sage MAS product family, SageCRM and JobOps. In 2007, the firm was selected by Ricoh Corporation to develop an integration of its document imaging solutions with Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200.
